Awards & Recognition

In the industry since 2001, Sara began her career as a receptionist then as an apprentice at Moulin Rouge Salon (now Redhouse Salon). She completed her Cosmetology Program and received her License the same year she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention from Oakland University in 2005. In Summer 2006, Sara took a position with Procter & Gamble, Salon Pro division, as a technical educator for Wella, Sebastian, and Nioxin, covering salons in Michigan and Ohio, and traveling to Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, for trainings. She transitioned back to the salon in 2009 as a top tier stylist/colorist and education director at Redhouse Salon until 2016. Sara is currently working behind the chair at Rusted Roots Salon and doing freelance bridal hair and photography on location. She also continues her education by attending in salon education events when international artists come or regional collective education at larger venues.

One of Michigan's regional winners for Wella Trendvision Competition, Tales of Folk category. Went on to compete for Nationals in Chicago, IL.
